Not too long ago, I had the honor and the privilege of checking out Gallagher Terrace at Barclays Center for a Brooklyn Nets vs. Miami Heat game. I’m not the biggest basketball fan, but when the boys call, and it’s a holiday season meetup, you show up. No questions asked.
Let me be clear: this experience is top-tier.
I’ve been to Legends, high-end lounges, luxury hotels, and plenty of so-called VIP experiences that promise the world and deliver warm fries and disappointment. Gallagher Terrace is not that. From start to finish, this place is fully dialed in.

Entry & First Impressions
The experience starts with a separate entrance at the Qatar entrance, which already sets the tone. Security is semi-private, maybe five or six people in line, no rushing, no attitude. If something takes an extra second, they actually apologize to you.
That alone tells you what kind of operation this is.
Once through, you head up the escalators, take a right, and step into Gallagher Terrace. The first thing that hits you is the view. You’re looking out over the entire arena, watching the crowd move below, feeling the scale of Barclays Center all at once. It’s impressive and honestly a little surreal.
The Space & Seating
Gallagher Terrace is a newly built premium lounge designed for serious comfort.
- Spacious, comfortable seating
- Clear views of the arena
- Calm, upscale vibe without feeling stiff
- Unlimited food and soft drinks, delivered straight to your seat
You’re watching the game, but let’s be honest: the food and atmosphere are doing most of the heavy lifting here.
Food & Drinks: The Standouts
We tried a reasonable amount, and overall, the menu is strong, but a few items really stood out.
What We Loved
- Buttermilk-brined crispy chicken wings
- Great crunch, juicy inside, no fluff.
- Steak au poivre loaded fries
- French fries topped with tender steak, caramelized onions, and peppercorn sauce. Easy to eat and very satisfying.
- Lobster escargot
- Rich, buttery, and comforting. One of my favorite bites of the night.
- Striped bass ceviche
- Fresh, citrus-forward, and refreshing. I’d happily order it again.

The MVPs
- Pavé potatoes with caviar
- Thousand-layer potatoes, fried perfectly, topped with caviar. Absolute crack. We ordered an embarrassing amount.
- The Brooklyn Signature Cocktail
- Patrón tequila, tajín, mango purée, and lime, served in a keepsake cup that I absolutely forgot to take home. Zero surprise there. The drink itself was excellent.
Dessert came out as warm donuts and cupcakes, which were simple but hit the spot.
Important note: Food service runs until the end of the third quarter, but trust me, by then you won’t be hungry.

Verdict
Would I do Gallagher Terrace again? In a heartbeat.
Would I go even if it wasn’t for a basketball game? Absolutely.
Even if you don’t care about hoops, this is one of those experiences where the service, food, and atmosphere alone justify the ticket. It’s polished without being pretentious and indulgent without feeling chaotic.
Now I’m just counting down to baseball season and praying the Yankees get their act together. I’m not holding my breath, but hope springs eternal.
As always, what do I know? I’m just a fat guy from Brooklyn trying to survive winter, one marina martini at a time. If you want more Top 10s steakhouses, burgers, restaurants, you name it, click the words and keep going.
