Some birthdays are celebrated with big dinners. Others start with “just a little something” that somehow turns into martinis, clams, and caviar. This was very much the second kind.
My friend flew up from Florida to celebrate my birthday, and before our next big meal, we needed a snacky stop. You know the vibe. A drink, a bite, maybe two. Since we were near Grand Central, Paladino’s Steak & Seafood made perfect sense.
I honestly didn’t expect to be back so soon. It had only been about a month since my last visit. But as long as I’m not ordering the Caesar salad again, I’m very happy here.
The Space: Three Vibes, One Address
Palladino’s is broken up into three distinct spaces. On my first visit, I sat in the patio, which feels isolated, elegant, and very classic steakhouse. This time, we posted up at the bar on one of the mezzanine levels inside Grand Central.
And honestly? I loved it.
You don’t see the entire station, but you feel it. The movement, the noise, the city doing city things. It’s energetic without being overwhelming, which is not easy to pull off in Grand Central. The bar itself is super chill and absolutely a place I’d hang out even without a full meal.
Drinks First, Obviously
We kicked things off with cocktails, and I convinced everyone to order the miso caviar martini. You’re welcome.
It was a hit across the board. Savory, briny, smooth, and paired with potato crisps and extra caviar because life is short and birthdays are shorter. The cocktail program here remains one of the strongest parts of Palladino’s. It’s playful, polished, and doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard.

The Food: A New Favorite Emerges
This visit introduced me to a new standout: Arthur Avenue Baked Clams.
These were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, loaded with garlic, but still incredibly balanced. No single note punched you in the face. Everything worked together, which is exactly what you want from a classic appetizer done right.
This alone is reason enough for me to come back again, which will probably be… next week. Because apparently all my friends are flying in now.

What’s Next
There’s still more of Palladino’s I want to explore. They have these semi-private date booths that feel tucked away and intimate, which is wild considering you’re inside Grand Central. I need to experience that contrast for myself.
I also want to do a full sit-down meal in the main dining room. I love a good bar seat, but it’s not the same as committing to the full steakhouse experience.
Final Thoughts
Palladino’s Steak & Seafood continues to deliver. The ambiance is strong, the cocktails are dialed in, and the food is consistently solid. I’ve had one dish I didn’t love, but that was a matter of personal preference, not poor execution.
Overall, this is a great spot to snack, drink, linger, or settle in for a full meal. It’s classy without being stiff and lively without being chaotic.
Missed My First Visit? Start Here
If this is your first time hearing about Paladino’s Steak & Seafood, I actually covered my initial visit in detail when the restaurant first opened near Grand Central.
That visit focused more on the whole steakhouse experience, the space itself, and the early hits and misses as the restaurant found its footing. If you want the whole backstory before this snacky, cocktail-heavy return, read my original review here:
Palladino’s Steak & Seafood: Grand Central’s New Steakhouse & Seafood Restaurant
Reading both gives you the whole picture. First impressions vs. a return visit once the hype settles and the kitchen starts dialing things in.
