Closing time—time for you to go somewhere else, but you can’t stay in New York. Isn’t that how the song goes? Either way, this marks the final chapter of Becca’s birthday bash. It’s been a blast, but let’s be honest: I probably gained nine pounds in the process and really need some rest.
For the grand finale, we returned to Sea Fire Grill, a spot that never disappoints. This time, though, we rolled in with 12 people—so yes, we were that group. Loud, laughing, and drawing plenty of looks. But hey, if you’re not a little loud, are you really having fun?
The Order
The orders were similar to our last visit, but this time, they were dominated by tomahawk steaks. I personally went with the Filet Mignon Oscar, topped with asparagus and hollandaise. It was superb—perfectly cooked medium-rare, indulgent but not overwhelming.
The table began with familiar appetizers: octopus salad, grilled calamari, and a “Cobb” or Wedge salad that wasn’t quite traditional (fun fact: the classic Cobb salad should have all its ingredients lined up in rows before being mixed). Still, everything tasted fresh and satisfying.

The Steaks
But the star? The tomahawk steak. Massive, beautifully marbled, cooked to perfection, and served on the bone—it was easily worth a reorder. The Filet Mignon held its own, rich and buttery, paired with the perfect hollandaise and crisp asparagus.

For dessert, we finally strayed from pecan pie and went for the dessert tray, which was a smart move. Every bite was worth the extra pounds. Sure, I’ll regret it tomorrow, but spending a night eating and laughing with close friends and new ones made it all worthwhile.

Sea Fire Grill continues to prove itself as a go-to in Midtown. The food is consistently top-notch, the service is smooth (even with a big, loud group like ours), and the atmosphere strikes a balance between upscale and comfortable. Yes, the photos got a little blurry as the night went on, but let’s blame that on the martinis and laughter.
All in all, Sea Fire Grill is firmly on the must-return list. Just maybe not for a while—I need a salad and a detox first.
